Travel needs

Tell us who is travelling. We will tell you honestly what works.

The same checks apply to every route, in every region: walking, stairs, driving time, altitude, food and access.

Travelling with grandparents

Every route page shows these numbers for every day, plus a gentler version.

  • Later starts (09:00–09:30) on gentle days

Altitude, explained plainly

We show the altitude of every night and every visit, and always offer a lower option.

Below 2,500 m

Most people feel nothing.

2,500–3,500 m

Some feel a headache or tiredness. Walk slowly, drink water.

Above 3,500 m

Short visits only, always optional with a lower swap.

We cannot promise nobody feels the altitude. If anyone has heart or lung conditions, high blood pressure, or is pregnant, please check with a doctor before booking. If someone feels unwell, tell your driver-guide straight away: rest, go lower, and see a doctor if needed.Read: altitude in Yunnan →

Food & dietary needs

Tell your travel designer before booking; your driver-guide explains it to every restaurant in Chinese.

Mild food for kids & seniors

Wheelchairs & limited mobility

Many sights have paved paths, lifts or electric carts, but old towns and temples often have cobblestones and steps. Tell your travel designer what you need; we will mark which stops work, which need help, and arrange a vehicle with space for a wheelchair.
