# Around the complex: moving between halls, crowds and day planning

This chapter of our 2026 Autumn Canton Fair (140th) guide explains how the four Areas of the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Pazhou connect, when the crowds peak, where to eat, charge and rest, and how to shape a day around your product clusters. Uncle Panda Travel is a licensed China travel agency, not the fair organiser; where our sources do not confirm something, we say so.

Last checked 2026-10-22 by the Uncle Panda team.

## At a glance

- **The complex is big:** four Areas linked by internal walkways and a central footbridge; Area C sits across Xingang Dong Road, reached by an elevated flyover. One buyer reported walking over 20,000 steps on day one.
- **Plan by Area, not by hall.** In each phase your product cluster usually sits in one or two Areas (see the table in section 2).
- **Use the app's booth navigation** (reported 1-metre accuracy across 45 halls and 75,000+ booths).
- **Crowd peaks:** arrival 08:00-11:00, departure 16:30-19:00; in Phase 1 mornings were packed and afternoons calmer.
- **Lunch:** one guide suggests eating before 11:30 or after 13:30 (a reported tip, not a measured wait at the 140th). Delivered takeaway is not allowed into the complex; every Area has a halal-marked fast-food outlet on the official-style catering map (certificates not seen).
- **Bring your own power bank.** Hall rental kiosks are reported to run empty at peak times.
- **Final day of each phase (Oct 27, Nov 4):** closing time is not confirmed and the custom bus stops at 17:00. Treat it as a follow-up day.

## 1. How the complex fits together

The layout, catering and Area C pages are third-party reposts, not official pages. Readable text does not confirm Phase 2/3 operation, and site-map landmarks are only partly confirmed. Image-only services, times and rules are not yet confirmed.

- **Four Areas:** A = Halls 1-8, B = Halls 9-13, C = Halls 14-16 (south of Xingang Dong Road), D = Halls 17-20 (westernmost), plus the Friendship Hall 21.2 in Area D.
- **Internal links:** Areas A, B, C and D are connected by dedicated internal pedestrian walkways and a central footbridge.
- **Area B to Area C:** an elevated pedestrian flyover (中央天桥) crosses Xingang Dong Road, with electric shuttle stops on it, so you do not need to go down to street level. A 2025 visitor also describes Area C as across the road and linked by a footbridge.
- **Pearl River Promenade (珠江散步道):** the long walkway along the river side of Areas A, B and D; several lockers and counters are located along it. One commenter says the L levels of Areas A/D connect with Area B level 2 along the promenade (low confidence).
- **Key buildings:** Registration Hall between D and A; Central Platform between A and B; Comprehensive Service Center at the west end of Area D. Area C has its own Overseas Buyer Registration Office on 1F by Halls 14.1/15.1.
- **Toilets and lifts:** one commenter says toilets are by hall entrances and lifts are beneath the connecting bridges (low confidence; check the venue map).

### Electric shuttle carts inside the complex

- The venue map legend shows electric shuttle carts inside the complex, including on the central flyover.
- A map page shows 24 numbered red stops: 1-10 in Area A, 11-17 in Area B, 18-24 in Area D, along the Pearl River Promenade and outer rings; separate green markers show flyover shuttles. No numbered stop is listed for Area C on that map; reach Area C over the flyover.
- Fares, hours and frequency are not in our sources; one guide only says "there are in-venue shuttles".

### Indoor navigation

- The official app offers booth-level navigation (Bluetooth + BeiDou + 5G positioning, about 1 m accuracy, all 45 halls, 75,000+ booths).
- The app also has an AI assistant called ASKME for supplier search and AR booth displays (point your phone at a booth to see certificates and catalogues). These are reported features; do not count on them working perfectly in crowded halls.
- Make a target list before you go; one guide warns you cannot finish even one hall in a day without one.

## 2. Plan your days by Area

Moving between Areas costs time. The official hall maps cluster related products, so most buyers can stay in one or two Areas per day.

| Phase | Area A | Area B | Area C | Area D |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| **Phase 2** (Oct 23-27) | Kitchenware, tableware, general ceramics, festival, gardening, weaving/rattan/iron, International Pavilion 2.1 | Bathroom, building materials, furniture, prefab houses (outdoor), art ceramics (9.2, low confidence) | Glass artware, household items | Home decor, gifts, clocks/eyewear, Fashion Jewelry 21.2 |
| **Phase 3** (Oct 31-Nov 4) | Clothing, kids' wear, sportswear, underwear, shoes, fur/leather/down, carpets, accessories, traditional specialties 6.0 | Pet, toiletries, personal care, sports/travel/outdoor, medical, food, stationery, International Pavilion 11.2 | Home textiles, fabrics, International Pavilion 15.1 | Toys, baby and maternity, bags, Smart Healthcare 21.2 |

Example clusters (our reading of the hall lists):

- A Phase 2 **furniture + bathroom** buyer can spend most days in Area B (furniture 9.3/10.2/10.3/11.3; bathroom 9.1/10.1/11.1).
- A Phase 2 **homeware** buyer moves between Area A (kitchenware 1.2-5.2) and Area C (household items 14.3-16.4).
- A Phase 3 **apparel** buyer stays in Area A; a **food or pet** buyer stays in Area B.
- A Phase 3 **toy or baby** buyer stays in Area D (toys 17.1-19.1, baby 20.1).

## 3. Crowds: the best and worst times of day

| Time | What the evidence says |
| --- | --- |
| 07:30-09:30 | Metro rush at Pazhou and Xingangdong; leave 40 minutes earlier than usual |
| 08:00-11:00 | Official peak arrival window |
| 09:30 | Buyer badges admitted (spring 2026 rule) |
| Morning | Phase 1 exhibitor: packed in the morning |
| 11:30-13:30 | Lunch peak; food courts and nearby restaurants overwhelmed |
| Afternoon | Phase 1 exhibitor: much calmer and more comfortable |
| 16:30-19:00 | Official peak exit window; metro crowd control, long taxi queues |
| 17:00-19:00 | Metro queuing outside stations, 30-45+ minutes in surges |
| ~17:30 | Exhibitors start packing up (comment) |

How to use this:

- **For browsing new suppliers**, one Phase 1 exhibitor found afternoons more comfortable than packed mornings; if Phase 2/3 crowds follow the same pattern, afternoons suit browsing.
- **For booked meetings**, morning is fine; suppliers sometimes stagger competing buyers into morning and afternoon slots, so get the supplier's mobile number to coordinate.
- **To get home**, leave before 16:30 or wait until after 19:00. If you leave between 17:00 and 18:00, take Line 11 rather than Line 8, or walk to Chisha station. A spring visitor advised leaving before 17:30 after queuing nearly an hour at the wrong exit.
- **If you take a taxi or drive** at opening or closing time, leave at least an hour earlier than planned.
- At closing, go straight to your designated pickup point rather than waiting at the hall doors.

## 4. Lunch and food inside the complex

**The rules**

- Delivered food and drinks (Meituan/Ele.me boxed meals) may not enter the complex. This is in the official Phase 1 guide and printed on the official-style catering map, which covers Phases 1, 2 and 3.
- The organiser asks visitors to eat at staggered times, and restaurants inside the complex take advance orders and deliver within the complex.

**What is on the catering map** (restaurants in all four Areas)

- **Halal-marked fast food, one per Area** (map icon only; the official Phase 1 guide does not establish halal catering): Area A #6 Dong Yang Ke (东羊客); Area B #3 Baiyun Airport Catering (白云天厨); Area C #5 Baiyun Airport Catering (白云天厨); Area D #4 West Coast Canteen (西海拾光). These are marked with a HALAL icon on the map; we have not seen certificates.
- Western chains and coffee: Area A has KFC, Starbucks, McDonald's, a pizza outlet, a Latin grill and a Turkish/Mexican outlet; Area B has Starbucks and McDonald's; Area C has McDonald's; Area D has KFC and Dicos.
- Area B's restaurant is piloting 4 cooking robots this edition.

**Price and queues**

- A Douyin creator found the canteen food fine but somewhat pricey; a Chinese exhibitor said a ¥40 meal allowance did not cover fair meals. (no menu prices in our sources)
- A buyer reported the food court usable but with long lunch queues.
- Nearby restaurants also queue at mealtimes and delivery is slow (restaurant marketing).

**Music and Cuisine Festival (7th edition)**

- **Area D, opposite Hall 20.1 / west of the Convention Center, 12:00-14:00:** Cantonese food and intangible-heritage show, Oct 23-27 and Oct 31-Nov 4 (per the official catering-map image; confirm day-windows on site).
- **Area A Atrium Garden, 18:00-20:00:** band, buffet and beer, Oct 23-26 and Oct 31-Nov 3, not on the final day (per the official catering-map image; confirm day-windows on site).
- A food carnival note mentions free tastings and 10-minute business set meals.

**Just outside**

- Poly Plaza and the Wanshengwei area are about 10 minutes away on foot (spring guide); one commenter suggests one metro stop to Wanshengwei.
- Wanmin Starlight City, with 100+ restaurants and shops, is within walking distance; its bank-card coupons need a Chinese ICBC card.
- **Nanfeng Hui (南丰汇)**, the mall directly across Xingang Dong Road from Area A, lists 20+ food and drink brands (McDonald's, Domino's, Starbucks, Luckin, Heytea, Chagee and more), a FamilyMart and a Xiaomi store for chargers and cables. The same directory calls it the closest and most crowded option at lunch. (directory image from April 2026; verify shops still open)
- Nanfeng Hui also lists two Lanzhou beef noodle chains, Chen Xiang Gui (陈香贵) and Ma Ji Yong (马记永). The directory transcription reports no halal mark or certificate for them; ask in the shop.
- Halal options are thin around Pazhou; the main clusters are in Xiaobei (Yuexiu), 30-40 minutes away.

## 5. Charging, connectivity, luggage and rest

**Power and data**

- Power-bank rental kiosks in the halls are reported to run empty at peak hours; bring a universal plug adapter and your own power bank. One buyer note suggests staying under 20,000 mAh.
- Pazhou metro station's service desk has phone chargers.
- One commenter recommends portable Wi-Fi because some attendees had weak connectivity; another says some mini-programs load slowly on roaming eSIMs. (anecdotes)

**Luggage and catalogues**

- The official Phase 1 guide lists luggage storage; Phase 2/3 continuity is not confirmed.
- Locker locations reported for the 140th (likely from the Phase 1 guide; verify for Phase 2/3):
  - Area A: Pearl River Promenade by the Hall 2.1 escalators (lockers C/D); by counters 5-6 (G); next to China Construction Bank (H); Central Platform Area A entrance (I).
  - Area B: next to Bank of China opposite Hall 9.2 on the promenade (A/B/F); by Hall 11.2 (E).
  - Area C: 1F opposite the Kungfu (真功夫) restaurant (J). A service-floor map also shows storage on Area C 1F and 2F.
  - Area D: Pearl River Promenade by counter 20-1 (L) and counter 19-1 (M).
- Catalogues get heavy. A Phase 3 veteran on a forum thread recommended a wheeled case. A commercial catalogue-collection and storage service advertises during Phase 2 (tel); verify it independently.
- SF Express at Pazhou port packs and ships luggage and samples (prices not stated). Spring 2026 comments place SF counters at Area B 11-2 and outside Area C Hall 15.1. (verify)

**Rest, help and services**

- Phase 1 guide services: meditation room, first aid/AED, bank/ATM, photocopying and business-card printing, post, and air/train ticketing. Do not assume the meditation room is a Muslim prayer room.
- Area C service floors (map page): 1F Overseas Buyer Registration Office, VIP Buyer Lounge and business-card printing/photocopying; 3F air/train ticket office; 4F complaint station for IP and trade disputes (CFCS). The page also shows an ATM and bank on 2F and AEDs on each floor. Phase not stated on the page.
- International Medical Services area in the Trade Services Zone with 19 medical institutions; another source says about 30 providers and a "GZ Medigo" app.
- Immigration hotline 12367 runs a 24/7 multilingual Canton Fair line and a booth inside the venue.
- About 10,000 volunteer shifts, including French, Arabic and Spanish speakers; 3 volunteer stations outside the halls.
- A multilingual service centre and cross-border payment help desks are on site.
- Airport-service desks in Areas A and B; airline/ferry check-in counter in Area A (3-6).

## 6. Peak days: opening day and the final days

**Opening day of each phase (Fri Oct 23, Sat Oct 31)**

- Phase 1 opening day saw 86,000 overseas buyers enter; the venue was packed but orderly. (Phase 1)
- On Phase 1 opening day one caption reports a metro entrance congested for over an hour. (Phase 1)
- The daytime e-bike ban starts an hour earlier on opening day (06:30 instead of 07:30).
- Companions who did not apply 2 days ahead are turned away at the badge centre.
- Expect similar pressure on Oct 23 and Oct 31; this is an inference from Phase 1, not a measured forecast.

**Final day of each phase (Tue Oct 27, Wed Nov 4)**

- Closing time is not officially confirmed for these days.
- The fair-Liuhua Road custom bus runs only 13:00-17:00 on day 5.
- Booth dismantling follows closing (Phase 2 preparation after 19:30 on Oct 27; Phase 3 sources disagree on timing).
- On Phase 1's teardown day (Oct 19) traffic was jammed and a van booking took a long wait. (Phase 1)
- Exhibitor staff describe the last two days as exhausting after late client dinners. (comment)
- We found **no source saying exhibitors leave early on the final day.** The signals above suggest a quieter, shorter day; plan accordingly.

**What to do on the last day**

- Revisit your shortlist for final price, MOQ, lead-time and sample questions rather than discovering new suppliers. Key data buyers ask for: specs, target price and MOQ, carton size/CBM and container load, lead time, OEM/ODM, test reports.
- Collect direct mobile/WeChat contacts; one guide calls the ~30 days after the fair the prime order-follow-up window (a reported tip, not a measured standard).
- On teardown evenings, discarded inquiry forms and business cards have been taken from booth bins; keep your price sheets and contact lists with you.
- Arrange luggage and sample shipping before the afternoon rush.

## 7. Sample day plans

### Phase 2 buyer (furniture, building materials, homeware, gifts)

| Day | Plan |
| --- | --- |
| Wed Oct 21 | **Application deadline for a companion who must enter on Oct 23.** On Oct 22 this deadline has already passed under the displayed rule; check the earliest selectable entry date. |
| Thu Oct 22 | Arrive; collect badge at the airport T2/T3 machines or your hotel desk. Lighting buyers: Guzhen Lighting Fair runs Oct 22-25 in Zhongshan. |
| Fri Oct 23 (opening) | Leave early for the metro rush; start with your main Area. |
| Sat Oct 24 - Mon Oct 26 | Work Area by Area (section 2); browse in the afternoon, meetings in the morning; leave before 16:30 or after 19:00. Evening Music & Cuisine Festival in the Area A Atrium Garden 18:00-20:00 until Oct 26. |
| Tue Oct 27 (final day) | Follow-ups only; custom bus 13:00-17:00. If you rely on a hotel shuttle, check the return: one hotel timetable shows no return bus on Oct 27. |
| Wed Oct 28 - Fri Oct 30 | Halls closed. Factory visits, sample shipping, rest. Outside fairs open Oct 30 (luggage fair, PWTC fashion fair). |

### Phase 3 buyer (apparel, textiles, toys, food, health)

| Day | Plan |
| --- | --- |
| Thu Oct 29 | **Last day to apply online for a companion who must enter on Oct 31.** |
| Fri Oct 30 | Arrive and collect badge; optional: Asia Luggage & Leather Goods Fair (Inspiration Expo Center, opposite Area D) or the PWTC Fashion & Lifestyle Fair, both Oct 30-Nov 2. |
| Sat Oct 31 (opening) | Expect opening-day crowds. |
| Sun Nov 1 - Tue Nov 3 | Area-by-Area (section 2); Area A evening festival until Nov 3. |
| Wed Nov 4 (final day) | Follow-ups; custom bus 13:00-17:00. One hotel timetable shows no return shuttle on Nov 4. |
| After Nov 4 | Factory visits: one commenter suggests a week after the fair may be more realistic than the day after, depending on the supplier. |

### Buyer doing both phases

- Your overseas buyer badge carries over; a companion badge must be applied for again for Phase 3.
- Use Oct 28-30 for factory visits or rest; the halls are closed.

## Do / Don't

**Do**

- Make a booth list by Area before each day.
- Eat before 11:30 or after 13:30, or pre-order from the in-complex restaurants.
- Cross Area B to Area C on the Central Flyover rather than at street level.
- Carry a power bank, plug adapter and a wheeled bag for catalogues.
- Keep the final day for follow-ups.

**Don't**

- Don't order takeaway to the hall gate.
- Don't wait at hall doors for a car at closing.
- Don't assume Phase 1 service locations (lockers, meditation room) are unchanged in Phase 2/3.

## Still to confirm

- **Final-day closing time and last admission** for Oct 27 and Nov 4: not confirmed.
- **Service locations for Phase 2/3** (lockers, meditation room, ATM, first aid): only Phase 1 sources and an Oct 13 map post; continuity unconfirmed.
- **Electric shuttle carts:** stop numbering from a map page; hours, fares and frequency unknown.
- **International Medical Services:** 19 institutions vs about 30 providers.
- **Halal outlets** on the catering map: marked halal, certification not seen; outlets may change between phases.
- **Nanfeng Hui noodle chains:** one directory calls them "certified halal-style", but the directory image shows no halal mark or certificate. We treat them as unconfirmed.
- **Weak-signal and power-bank shortages** are anecdotes, not measured.
- **Crowd pattern for Phase 2/3** is inferred from Phase 1; no Phase 2/3 data yet.
